ok it is a lot bit about me … enjoy!
Hello there! I’m Rob Sogomonian and I’m a voiceover artist; however, that in itself is not very interesting. Let me tell you a bit about my journey to this career and how I ended up diving whole heartedly into the entertainment business!
Stick with me through this backstory because there I am setting up a point!
Many friends, family, and colleagues have referred to me as a “Renaissance Man” and also fairly often as a “Jack of all Trades”. Both of these terms fit me fairly perfectly: I have a lot of interests, and I pour all of my attention and focus into every one of them. It’s one thing for someone to have a passing fancy, learn something a little, and then move on; however, I am not that type of person. I actively engage in all of my interests and am constantly striving to improve my skills and talents at as many of them as I can.
The term Renaissance Man, also known as a polymath, refers to one who is a well-rounded individual gifted and skilled in many different areas. The term Jack of All Trades comes from a quote from Robert Greene describing William Shakespeare. The full quote is thus: “Jack of all trades, master of none, though oftentimes better than master of one.” It reasons that someone that is good at everything, while likely not a true master at anything, is generally much more versatile than either a master or a novice. Their wide range of skills and talents enables them to provide a solution for almost anything.
I have been fortunate enough to have held many careers, and as a result have been empowered by a wealth of experience.
My dad was a general contractor and building inspector, and I helped him run his company from around the time I was sixteen through his retirement when I was thirty seven. I learned how to run a business, customer service, and critical listening skills while working with him. Project and schedule management were also well developed skills.
The things I gravitated towards were computers and particularly software engineering as I wanted to become a video game developer when I was in high school. So from around the same starting age I was also learning how to think logically, solve complex problems, work with computers and multimedia (audio, video, 3d modeling), and provide robust solutions.
I shifted careers and earned my real estate license. This led to me becoming the Regional Technology Director for Keller Williams Realty in Southern California, and after a couple of years I shifted over to a more local role as a Team Leader at a local Keller Williams office. This honed my skills in leadership, communication, people management, setting good expectations, and customer service. I have also been a prominent leader in the local real estate community. I am still involved in local real estate and love it; however, I wanted to further explore my creative side and scratch that particular itch.
Speaking of my creative side, let’s switch over to some of the hobbies I have! I have been an actor since I sang along and reenacted Disney music and scenes in my living room as a kid. Drama was a huge part of my life throughout school and I’ve participated in many plays, musicals, and other performances on both the acting as well as the production end of things.
Another interest I had early on was aviation, and this led to me producing a full training video series on YouTube to help a friend learn how to join us and fly in a flight simulator. Essentially, this was my first “voice over” job as I built the cirriculum, wrote the training scripts, demonstrated while screen recording in the simulator, and narrated the steps I was taking while doing it. The series has gained a huge amount of popularity on my primary channel, and I still receive positive comments about it to this day.
Once I earned my private pilot certificate, I produced an aviation vlog on that same channel to share my love of aviation. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. I channeled my love for food and cooking and combined that with my skills at media production and produced the Cook Along Live livestream on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook as a way to keep friends, family, colleagues, and clients connected and entertained during our lockdowns.
How do all of these seemingly unrelated things result in me being the best choice for your voice over needs? Sure I could go on about how I also love to garden, train and participate in Ironman triathlon, used to race rally cars, am a ringer on the golf course and at the bowling alley, and love to go out and sing karaoke. Or we could focus on the fact that I’m an ordained minister with a non-denominational church and was the officiant for both my dad when he was remarried as well as my sister when she married her husband. Or how I absolutely love all things Disney, Tolkien, and Star Wars.
Honestly, I could probably write a novel or a TV series about my careers and interests. Alas, I digress, and we shall now come to the point!
Ultimately, the job of a voice actor is to convey emotion, feeling, and truth into a performance that tells a story. Whether that is to promote a product, build rapport with clients, or to quite literally perform as a character or many characters in animation, audiobooks, or video games, many actors have to use what they imagine an experience was in order to bring out that truth. In my case, there is a very good chance I’ve actually lived the experience and know what feelings to tap into during the performance.
I also have a wealth of experience across multiple careers and businesses, understand how to be a professional, and have an excellent handle of project management, time management, and effective communication. I understand that when you hire me to voice your project I am coming in and joining a team of creatives in order to bring the vision to life. The result is all about you – I’m often the very last piece in the puzzle, bringing it all together.
This context and understanding makes me a very easy talent to work with. My technical skill from my engineering background means that I can often help solve issues that may pop up during recording or post production. Having such a long history of working directly with clients means that if any adjustments or concerns come up after the project is done, it is very easy to reach out to me and of course we will work together to figure out how to achieve a win-win outcome.
I’m here to make your life as easy as possible while collaborating with you to ensure the best possible result. Are you working on something that might need a voice actor?

The puzzle of how to say something concisely while also keeping the purpose of them consistent is something that I love. Spelling and grammatical errors pop out to my eyes like neon signs. Use my eyes as a second set for your scripts!
There are quite a few medical professionals in my immediate family and as a result I am very comfortable when it comes to pronouncing chemical names and procedures. I can also translate to layman terms!
One of my favorite things to do for fun is to go out and sing at karaoke! I have been singing from a very young age and have been invited to join two local award winning choir groups. Check out some samples on the home page!
My primary goal in life is to see others succeed. I love to work as a consultant and offer ideas and different ways to look at situations and goals to perhaps spark a unique way to accomplish them and sometimes even to find a simple path of achievement.
Working with clients on their biggest financial investments is a tall order. The customer service and leadership skills learned in this career translate directly to communicating with you on your projects and content.
I’ve been interested in computers since I was 15 years old and quickly learned how to program. This technical skill allows me to quickly troubleshoot technical issues that sometimes arise during recording.
